November 16th to 18th, Frédérique Doumic (CEO), Sébastien Doumic (Senior VP) and Fabrice Passaquay (Vice President of Distribution and CTO) participated to the 10th edition of Game Connection in Lyon (France)

They came back very enthusiastic, because of the numerous meetings made during these three days.

This Game Connection was an opportunity to confirm that OUAT is a key partner on the social gaming market;
from the declination of Totally Spies! Fashion Agents on new social networks to new social games projects, the discussions have been numerous abd very interesting for OUAT and its staff.

Apple goes from one record to another since it launched the iPad. After having sold 2 million touch devices in 60 days, Steve jobs just announced that 3 million iPad had been bought in 80 days. Each day, Apple sells more than 37.000 units. Amazing results which are really promising for all applications developers.

Mark Zuckerberg is confident. Believed to have passed the 500 million users, Facebook has a new goal: to collect one billion people. To do this, social network account on the influx of users from countries with no time for his services, such as China or Russia.

• Zynga launches Farmville on iPhone.

With already over 63 million players on Facebook, Zynga wants to develop its social game, Farmville, on new platforms. This week, Farmville has been released for free on Apple’s AppStore. The game doesn’t change in depth, but many graphic changes have been made.

One of the important points of Zynga’s strategy is the fact that the company considers the iPhone as a Facebook extension. Farmville for iPhone is not another game; it is the possibility to continue the experience from a mobile device.

Japan’s Softbank could have bought between 2.5% and 5% of Zynga for $147 millions. The aim of this operation could be to allow Zynga to enjoy numerous mobile services offered by the bank in order to expand its business in the Asian market. After the disagreement between Zynga and Facebook, and the agreement signed by these two giants, Zynga seems to seek his independance by multipliying its support. During the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the announcements have been numerous; new games, new consoles…
Microsoft introduced its new Kinnect concept, a kit which includes  camera-and-microphone accessories, destined to become a new competitor for the Nintendo Wii.
The biggest announcement of E3 is probably the one made by Nintendo, which introduced  its future portable console: the 3DS. Echoing the foundations of the DS, it will integrate a technology allowing toplay isometric 3D games without glasses. It will also be equipped with two cameras: one on the front and the second located on the back of the console.

Those results are more than likely due to the product’s novelty. iPad-users would be so curious that even advertising would be a particular attraction. The iPad would also incorporate new uses in the world of advertising, such as the use of the accelerometer or geolocation.

The Website Digital 2.0, in a partnership with Weforest.com, launches a unique contest: The Geek Factor, a competition in which teams will have to create a social game integrating networking interfaces and whose goal is to educate players about the problems linked to global warming and deforestation.
